About Us

Welcome to Dove Counselling Services

May I offer you a warm welcome to Dove Counselling Services. My name is Harjit, and I run Dove Counselling Services.

I am a qualified humanistic counsellor, trained at the University of Chichester, and I am a Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I believe that within a warm, trusting therapeutic relationship lies the foundation for understanding, healing and growth. I will offer you a safe, confidential space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgement, knowing that you will be seen and respected as an individual and listened to with care and empathy. With me, you can express yourself openly and honestly, without fear of being judged or dismissed.

I am a warm, friendly person with a good sense of humour. I work in a professional, yet informal and relaxed manner, taking care to put you at your ease. My journey with supporting others began in education, where I developed a deep understanding of how important it is for each person to feel truly seen and understood. My life experiences, including grief and loss, moved my journey on to training as a counsellor. I maintain my belief in the uniqueness of each individual and take care to tailor what I can offer to meet your needs.

Currently, alongside my private practice, I work as specialist counsellor in end-of-life and bereavement care at a hospice, supporting individuals through some of life's most challenging transitions. I also volunteer at a local hospital, providing therapeutic support to NHS staff facing both workplace and personal life challenges.

Dove Counselling Services warmly welcomes clients from all backgrounds and life experiences. I have experience in supporting neurodivergent individuals and others from minoritised groups, bringing both my personal understanding and professional training to create an inclusive, adaptable therapeutic space. Whatever brings you to counselling, we are committed to working alongside you with respect, compassion, understanding, and acceptance.
